Boat
Bodrum was already in antiquity, a center of the boat-building, at least since the time of Mausolos. Ptolemy had here in the 3rd Century BC its warships built. Today in the area built gulets have great similarity to the large vessels for the transportation and the long ships of antiquity for the fight, as they are described in Homer.   Tourism
Thanks to its location and the warm, but windy Mediterranean climate is pleased Bodrum growing tourist influx, the entire region owes its economic recovery. The summer visitors come mainly from Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and in a growing number of eastern European countries such as Serbia and the states of the former Soviet Union. Bodrum is famous for crystal-clear sea water, its beaches, its ideal conditions for windsurfing, diving and all sorts of water sports. At the port itself ballt trade and change, gulets are the building, which is lined with bars and discos and behind them in the narrow alleyways, whose geometry is several centuries old, the Krämer quarter. Bodrum itself adorns also happy with the nickname “The St. Tropez of Turkey”. Through local / state requirements is the only building in Bodrum to max. 2 projectiles limits what Bodrum Turkish tourists from other places is different. No concrete buildings, no hotel-”Manhattan” as otherwise in Antalya / Alanya or other tourist areas. Everything must be in the historic village. And that is exactly this Bodrum flair of a - though now grown - fishing village.

  Traffic
Bodrum has a marina and about 30 km away from the city core international airport Bodrum-Milas. Next distant airports with international connections are in the cities of Izmir and Dalaman. From the bus terminal of the city, there are many excellent connections to major cities in Turkey.
